A 10th anniversary reception and special session for the postdoctoral program was held on Sunday, December 17, 2000 at the AGU conference in San Francisco, California. Attendees included past and present postdoctoral fellows as well as many interested scientists. A special session of alumni talks included speakers Scot Martin, Sonya Legg, Gidon Eshel, Myles Allen, Niki Gruber, and Jeff Severinghaus.
The mission of the NOAA Postdoctoral Program in Climate & Global Change is to help create the next generation of researchers needed for climate studies who will be able to provide predictions and assessments of global climate change on seasonal to centennial time scales. There are currently 86 past and present fellows in the program.
