Ground transportation from Reagan National Airport/DCA
Follow the signs to the Airport Metrorail station. Depending on the time of day, you will either take the Yellow Line or the Blue Line.

- Take the Yellow Line toward Fort Totten and exit at Gallery Place/ Chinatown. Take the Red Line toward Glenmont and exit at the Silver Spring station.

- Take the Blue Line toward Largo Town Center and exit at Metro Center. Take the Red Line toward Glenmont Metro/Silver Spring and exit at the Silver Spring station.

Ground transportation from Union Station
- Depart Union Station through the Massachusettes Avenue exit to reach the Metrorail. Take the Redline towards Glenmont/Silver Spring and depart at the Silver Springs station.
Walk From Silver Spring Station to the Hampton Inn:
- 2.5 blocks North on Colesville Road
- MacDonalds on the left
- 7-11 on the left
- AFI Theatre on the right
- Silver Spring Mall on the right
- After the light at Fenton St., the Hampton Inn will be on the left
- Hampton Inn Shuttle Service
- Call and let them know when you're arriving at the Silver Spring Metrorail station, and they will come and get you.
Walk to the the NOAA Auditorium and Science Center from the Hampton Inn
- The front door of the Hampton Inn faces Colesville Rd. Walk out the front door and turn right
- Turn left (south) on East-West Highway and walk to the top of the hill, passing two separate entrances to public parking garages
- Turn left into the plaza at the information kiosk on the sidewalk that is marked with the street address #1305
- The building to the left is 1305, and the NOAA Auditorium and Science Center is at 1301, straight ahead at the rear of the plaza

MetroRail from the NOAA Auditorium & Science Center or Hampton Inn to Capitol Visitor Center
Directions to the Capitol Visitor Center - Room SVC 202-203
From the Silver Spring Metro Station, take the Metro Red Line toward Shady Grove. Exit at Union Station.
Leave from the central exit in the station (in the middle of the platform, up the escalators.) Go out of the station at the front (where the statue is located) and cross over the circular drives and continue to the left around the circle to 1st Street NE. Turn right on 1st Street and continue, crossing D Street and Constitution Avenue. The Visitor Center entrance is at the east front at 1st Street NE and East Capitol Street SE. This is about a 15 minute walk.
You may also leave Union Station, cross the circular drives and continue on Delaware Avenue NE, crossing D Street NW, until you get to Constitution Avenue. Turn left on Constitution, right on 1st Street NE. The Visitor Center entrance is at the east front at 1st Street and East Capitol Street SE.
To return to Silver Spring, take Red Line from Union Station toward Glenmont, and exit at Silver Spring.
